Network Groups

An excellent opportunity to meet people and explore God's word in a relaxed informal setting in people's homes.  Fortnightly the groups meet and using a set guide focus on particular Bible areas or themes to learn more about God's word and have informal discussions whilst not forgetting the all important tea, coffee, cake and biscuits.    At the end of the summer certain groups also hold social events.  There are several events running as follows, at which newcomers are always welcome:

Tuesdays at 19:30pm and 20:00pm

Wednesdays at 11:30am (after Open Church )

Wednesday at 20:00pm

For further information please contact John, Jackie or anyone at Church.  Alternatively email the Church office ( who will put you in touch with a group that meets your needs.

Open Church

A time for spiritual, personal and bodily refreshment.

On Wednesday mornings from 9.30 until 10.15 we have a Communion service and have the opportunity to comment and ask questions about the days Bible passage. Also during the prayers you can include your own personal prayers.

Then at 10.15 we have ‘Open Church’ where we sit around and chat about church, weather, Morley or any other topic. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes are available and we are joined by many locals who haven’t attended the earlier service. Occasionally a PCSO will call in whilst on his beat and is available to listen to your concerns and comments. We normally finish at 12.00 and you are most welcome to call in at any time for refreshments, chat, to meet friends and make new ones.

On the second Wednesday of the month we have a ‘Light Lunch’ from 12.00 until 1.00 when we have pizza, baked potato with topping or perhaps homemade soup etc. followed by tea or coffee. We ask for a contribution of £2 towards the cost of the food.

You would be most welcome to join us for all or any part of the morning for a relaxing period away from the humdrum everyday tasks!

Music is an integral part of worship at St Peter’s Church and is both diverse and vibrant.  It embraces both traditional hymns and more modern worship songs.  A different group of singers lead the worship each week to CD backing tracks, while once a month our Music Group plays at the Sunday service.

A larger group of singers may be formed to sing at weddings or special services, such as Special Lives in November or at Christmas.  All involved have been willing to practise regularly and our repertoire of music has expanded to over 300 songs in recent years.  We have attended several singing workshops, most recently one at Bradford Cathedral on Iona music led by John Bell.

Children and Youth Activities

St Peter's warmly welcomes your children and as much effort as possible is made to include them in the services.  For babies and toddlers there is a "soft play" area available in every service.
